India Lose To Belgium In Men's Hockey Semi-Final
India's hopes of winning a first men's hockey gold in more than 40 years ended in Tokyo after they lost to world champions Belgium in the semi-final 5-2. Despite leading 2-1 in the second quarter and tied at 2-2 in the fourth quarter, the Indian defence succumbed to the relentless Belgian pressure as penalty corner specialist Alexander Hendrickx scored a hat-trick to take Belgium to their second successive Olympic final. India will play the loser of the other semi-final between Australia and Germany for the bronze medal.
