India Reports Nearly 50k New Cases In Record One-day Spike; Death Toll Crosses 30k

In a record one-day spike, India added nearly 50,000 new COVID-19 cases. 49,310 people tested positive for the disease as the total case count rose to 12,87,945. The number of active cases stands at 4,40,135 while 8,17,208 patients have been cured or discharged so far. 740 patients succumbed to the disease as the death toll rose to 30,601.
