Melbourne Placed Under Lockdown For Six Weeks
Australia's second-largest city Melbourne has been put under a lockdown for six weeks after reporting a record increase in COVID-19 cases for two consecutive days. The Premier of Victoria sate, Dan Andrews said in a statement that stay-at-home order has been issued from midnight of July 8 for six weeks in the Melbourne metropolitan region and Mitchell Shire. As of July 6, the state of Victoria has reported 2,660 cases with 2,307 being reported in Melbourne.
