In the latest round of water wars involving the states of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, the government of Punjab has passed another resolution in the state assembly pushing the decision to return land acquired for the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal - this despite the Supreme Court order requiring status quo to be maintained in the case. On the other hand, Haryana government has got into a skirmish with the Delhi government asking it to build its own canal after Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal supported Punjab government's decision to abandon the SYL canal.
