Chetan Chauhan Passes Away Due To Complications Arising From COVID-19
Former Indian cricketer and BJP MP, Chetan Chauhan. 73, passed away on Sunday due to complications that arose after he tested positive for COVID-19. He tested positive in July and was transferred to Gurugram's Medanta Hospital from Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi PGI hospital in Lucknow.
His condition deteriorated on Friday night after which doctors put him on life support.

Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 5, is stable but still on life support, according to The News Minute. In a statement released on Saturday, Chennai's MGM Healthcare hospital said, "Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who is admitted at MDM Healthcare due to COVID-19 continues to be on life support in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He remains stable and the doctors are closely monitoring his clinical parameters."

Maharashtra Cooperation Minister Balasaheb Patil has tested positive for COVID-19, reports PTI. Patil tested positive on Friday night and has been admitted to a hospital in his home constituency of Karad. Patil is the seventh Maharashtra minister to contract the disease.

"Early morning today, Chetan ji had a kidney failure and, subsequently, had multiple organ failure. He is currently on life support. India Adds 65,002 New COVID-19 Cases
India has reported 65,002 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours taking the total case count to 25,26,192. The number of active cases stands at 6,68,220 while 18,08,936 patients have been cured or discharged so far. The death toll rose to 49,036 after 996 patients died due to the disease.
