AudioCompass, a startup offering audio tour guides via phone-based app for cultural or tourist sites across the country, is representing India at Israel’s DLD Tel Aviv Innovation festival to be held between September 6 and 12.
AudioCompass is one among the 21 startups selected from 21 different countries to participate in the event. The global initiative “Start Tel Aviv” is organised by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tel Aviv Global. The festival, Israel’s largest international Hi-tech gathering, features hundreds of startups, VC’s, angel investors and multinationals.
Ditza Froim, Minister Counsellor, Public Diplomacy at the Embassy of Israel said, “We have learnt to innovate because of our history. There is no limit to what we can achieve if India and Israel come together. Start Tel Aviv is just one platform for such a collaboration.”

In its third year, the competition saw participation from 100 start-ups and six finalists in New Delhi were selected on Friday for the finals. The event was organised by The Embassy of Israel, in partnership with TIE Delhi-NCR. The jury included Rahul Khanna- Managing Partner, Trifecta Capital Partners; Rajesh Razdan- Founder & Director , mCarbon Tech Innovation Pvt. Ltd; Dev Khare - Venture investor in India at Lightspeed Ventures and former entrepreneur and Praveen Tyagi- Founder Director, Evelyn Learning Systems.

The six finalists showcased their tech-based solutions that touch multiple lives. IoTfy, a company started by Arpit Chhabra along with three others and that provides cloud back-end to your hardware such as CCTV, came a close second this year. Arpit Chhabra says, “This platform provides us the right exposure to showcase our technology and also allows us to validate our idea.”
Another firm Vidgyor Media Technologies showcased its video-advertisement platform for internet TV. It claims that its technology auto-detects original broadcast TV ads and replaces with personalised video ads in a matter of 3 seconds. The other two finalists included 6zene Technologie and Linksmart Technologies.
