Indian Air Chief Arup Raha 'Test' Flies Tejas Fighter Aircraft

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha became the first Indian Air Force Chief to fly the indigenously-manufactured Tejas aircraft. Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha flew a trainer version of the multi-role supersonic Tejas over Bangalore for 30 minutes. Advanced battle-ready version of Tejas is expected to be inducted by 2018. Tejas is designed and developed by the state-run aeronautics development agency.
