Three army soldiers, including an officer were killed as militants launched a suicide attack early Thursday at an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. Seven soldiers were injured in the attack.
The gun battle that lasted for four hours ended when two of the militants were shot dead. A third militant is on the run after being injured in the shootout. The army has launched a manhunt in the area.
From Pathankot to Uri to Nagrota and now Kupwara, the Indian army has faced several setbacks in terms of loss of lives since the last 16 months as militants trained by Pakistan attack several army locations.
