"Hospital Staff needs to be properly protected as they are the ones who are going to be exposed to the virus majorly," says Dr. J V Divatia, Professor and Head, Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
He further states -
* Most patients might have very mild symptoms and they should get better eventually.
* 15% of the patients might require hospitalisation.
* About 5%-8% might require intensive care that will include ventilation.
According to him, hospitals in India are already creating more isolation wards. Ventilators used for anaesthesia will also be used as backup for treating patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms.
