No, This Poster Is Not From A Protest At Aligarh Muslim University

BOOM found that the poster was from a protest in London outside the Indian High Commission and not from AMU, Uttar Pradesh.

By - Anmol Alphonso | 21 Aug 2019 4:00 PM IST

A poster calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'the dracula of Kashmir' is being shared online with the false claim that students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) had put up the poster in protest against the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir.

The Hindi text of the tweet by a Ajit Doval fan club account translates to the following.

"According to sources, students of Aligarh Muslim University have put up such posters in protest against the removal of Section 370. What is the use of teaching such people whose thoughts are so heinous? UP Chief Minister @myogioffice I request to those who put up these posters to be treated properly."

The tweet has gained around 418 retweets and one thousand likes while writing the article.

Aligarh Police tweeted debunking the claim that any such poster was put up by AMU students in Aliagarh, Uttar Pradesh.
