Syrian Children Hold Pictures Of Pokémon To Get Found

Children in war-torn Syria are holding pictures of Pokémon characters to use the game’s popularity to raise awareness about their plight.

Photos of Syrian children with Pokémon characters started circulating on July 20, the same day airstrikes in Idlib killed more than 50 people. The war in Syria has affected 7.5 million Syrian children.

 

13.5 million Syrians are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. 470,000 Syrians have been killed since the war began in 2011.
