Fact
The same video was uploaded to YouTube in July 2018 and shows the felling of apple trees in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and not Kashmir. The felling was on the orders of the Himachal Pradesh High Court to clear forest land of illegal encroachments. The court had granted a week’s time to the Special Investigation Team to complete felling of the apple plants in the apple belt of Shimla in May last year as part of the drive to clear illegal encroachments on forest land. BOOM debunked a similar video on August 27, 2019.
BOOM found that the video is originally from Himachal Pradesh where felling of trees was ordered by the state’s High Court last year to clear illegal encroachments
