Wildfire Near Los Angeles Triples In Size To Burn More Than 33,000 Acres

A wildfire raging near Los Angeles tripled in size over the weekend to more than 33,000 acres driven by hot, dry and windy conditions.

An army of 1,673 firefighters are battling the so-called sand fire burning in the Angeles national forest. About 1,500 people remained under evacuation orders to begin the week. The fire destroyed 18 structures over the weekend, with some close calls.

A body has been found in a burned-out car but it is not clear if the death is fire-related.
