An image of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Sambit Patra having a meal with a homeless couple on a pavement, is photoshopped.
The picture is a composite of two separate images and was created as a gag to troll Patra.
However, the fake image is now being shared with many people believing it to be true.
The photoshopped image was tweeted by the account @Ind_Arya on Twitter.

The tweet read, 'Sambit Patra's new announcement. To see poverty first hand I will eat on the footpath and will sleep on it at night.'

A Facebook user named Shiv Rajput shared the photshopped picture thinking it was true.
The caption in Hindi reads, "भगवन श्री राम के कुल देवता जगननाथ पूरी मे संबित पात्रा की सादगी"
The image was also tweeted by Congress leader Nagma Morarji. The actor turned politician deleted her tweet after BOOM called out her tweet.
FACT-CHECK
The image is visibly photoshopped with the lighting on Patra starkly brighter compared to the rest of the image.
A reverse image search of the photo did not yield any results.
We also tried cropping the photo and searching for it separately. However, that also did not throw up any results.
We then changed the horizontal orientation of the picture and performed a reverse image search again.
