Andhra Pradesh, is a state in the southeastern coastal region of India. The state has a significant amount of coastline along the Bay of Bengal. It is also a major producer of rice in India. Andhra Pradesh has several rivers, including the Godavri and Krishna, and is known for its large scale irrigation projects. The culture of Andhra Pradesh is characterized by its distinctive art and craft, which include traditional paintings, handicrafts and handlooms, such as the Ikat saris with intricate designs and patterns. The state’s music is deeply rooted in Carnatic music, and its dance forms, like the classical Kuchipudi, showcase the artistic elegance of the region. The Telugu language, spoken by the majority, serves as a cornerstone for the state’s literary and cinematic expressions.

In April 2024, BOOM debunked a false claim, “Photo showing survey conducted by Intelligence Bureau in Andhra Pradesh predicting a YSRCP victory in the assembly election”.

We found that the viral IB document was fake. The IB does not conduct election surveys and is India's domestic intelligence, internal security and counter-intelligence agency that deals with garnering intelligence from within India and also executes counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism tasks.

In March 2024, BOOM debunked another false claim “Republic TV survey predicts Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its alliance partner, Jana Sena Party (JSP) will win 132 seats in Andhra Pradesh assembly election”.

We found that the viral graphic predicting 132 seats to the TDP - JSP alliance in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh assembly election is fake and no such survey has been released by Republic TV. Republic TV posted a statement on X clarifying that the outlet has not released any such survey regarding the Andhra Pradesh assembly election as being attributed to it.
