Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yediyurappa, often referred as BS Yediyurappa, is an Indian politician and has served multiple terms as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. His political journey began with Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later evolved to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Yediyurappa first became the Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1983, representing the Shikaripura constituency. He held this position until 1999 and then again from 2004 to 2014.. His tenure in the Karnataka Legislative Council spanned from 2000 to 2004.
In January 2020, BOOM came across a video being widely circulated, in which Yediyurappa’s statement was being falsely linked to CAA.
We found that the caption was misleading as the Lingayat seer's remarks made by Yediyurappa were not related to the Citizenship Amendment Act. The incident took place earlier in January at an event held in Harihar in Davangere district hosted by the Panchamasali Samaj Gurupeeth, the News Minute reported.
