In July 2020, BOOM investigated a viral clip that falsely portrayed an India Today cartoon about Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

BOOM found that the clip was from the Indian political cartoon series 'So Sorry,' aired by the India Today group, and had been misrepresented with a fake news spin.

In September 2021, BOOM investigated viral claims by Indian news outlets that misidentified the new Governor of Afghanistan's Central Bank, Haji Mohammad Idris.

BOOM compared photos of Idris shared by the Central Bank with the viral image and found that the two were different individuals, debunking the false identification.
