BOOM recently debunked several misleading information related to the show.

A scam where fraudsters send fake KBC lottery messages via WhatsApp, promising Rs 25 lakhs. One such scam traced to Pakistan, and similar incidents reported in India. Victims are lured with cash prizes, then asked for processing fees. A WhatsApp user received a call offering Rs 25 lakhs.The caller, Ahmed Raza,traced in Pakistan, denied involvement in any lottery business, but his number was tagged as 'KBC fraud' on Truecaller. Similar cases were reported nationwide. Sony Pictures Networks confirmed the information as fake and cautioned against such scams. Another message, "KBC GHAR BAITHE JEETO JACKPOT 2018," led to a website claiming association with KBC and Sony, but it was disclaimed as unrelated.

BOOM debunked a viral video from the quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati,' falsely claiming that Amitabh Bachchan referred to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the "announcement minister." The video was digitally altered with fake graphics and audio. BOOM compared the fake video with the original episode, finding discrepancies in the question asked. Additionally, Sony TV labeled the viral video as "misleading," and the contestant featured in the video confirmed that it was false.

As the Madhya Pradesh state elections approached, doctored videos surfaced on social media, aiming to discredit the BJP government and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. These videos, shared by pro-Congress accounts, depicted false scenarios from the KBC, suggesting Chouhan's involvement in fake promises and failures.
