A 2017 video from Gujarat showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted by enthusiastic crowds gathered to see him is being shared with a false claim that it is from Tamil Nadu.
The edited video is being shared in the backdrop of the Indian prime minister and Chinese President Xi Jinping kicking off their two-day informal summit on October 11, 2019, at Mahabalipuram about 50 km from Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai.
In the video one can see the prime minister, flanked by security personnel, walking on the street and displaying his index finger to the crowd, to indicate that he had voted. The Telugu song 'Veede Veede' has been overlaid on to the video.
The clip has been tweeted with the caption, "Those who think Modi’s popularity in Tamilnadu is a myth must watch this video. The madi magic is sure to leave you spellbound! #DontGoBackModi #NarendraModi"

FACT-CHECK
Taking a cue from Twitter replies pointing out that the video was not from Tamil Nadu, we broke the video into key-frames and ran a reverse image search using Google.
The search results showed that the video was from December 2017 during the Gujarat elections when PM Modi had gone to cast his vote in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
