CNN Fires Presenter Chris Cuomo For Aiding Brother in Sexual Abuse Case
CNN on Saturday announced to fire its anchor Chris Cuomo for helping his politician brother in a case of sexual abuse.
Chris' brother Andrew Cuomo was the former New York governor when the allegations surfaced. Andrew resigned in August over accusations of harassing staff.
"Not how I want my time at CNN to end," Chris said in a statement post his ouster from the network.
"Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother's defense," CNN said in its statement.
Chris worked for CNN since and had become one of its most popular presenters. Most recently, he led the network's coverage of the 2020 US presidential election.
