2021, the second year of pandemic, wasn't an easy one. India saw a disastrous second wave, healthcare was in shambles. But there was hope too. Lockdowns ended, markets opened, social gatherings resumed. Here's how the bittersweet year gone by looked on Google.

In India, 'Indian Premier League' was the most searched term overall. The much-awaited tournament was held in UAE in September and October with minimal crowd cheering from the stands.

CoWin, India's portal for vaccine registration, was the second most searched term on Google as inoculation drive began in 2021.

While India had a hard luck in this year's ICC T20 Men's World Cup, ICC T20 World Cup was the third highest searched termed on Google.

Euro Cup ranked fourth on Google's most searched terms in India in 2021.

Tokyo Olympics, where India won several medals, was most searched term #5 in India.
