In a thriller contest, Pakistan won the cricket match against India on Sunday in the ongoing men's T20 World Cup. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Advantage Shaheen
Pakistan's opening bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, took a couple of early wickets, putting India under pressure. He dismissed veteran Indian batter Rohit Sharma on a duck. KL Rahul was the next to go in the third when Shaheen bowled a perfect in-swinger.
Pakistan's attacking bowling line kept Indian batting in check, who managed to set a target of 152 runs.
Pakistan's A-class bowling was well-complimented by its batting line. Openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan steered the team to victory.
The duo had a slow start off, but gathered pace in the second half of the match. As the gap between required runs and remaining balls started closing in, a few fours helped the team near the win.
Babar and Rizwan's 152-run-partnership is the highest-ever opening partnership in men's ICC T20 World Cup match.
But what remained the highlight of the match was the display of true sportsmanship on the field, even as India faced a crushing defeat against Pakistan by 10 wickets.
Indian captain Virat Kohli was seen in a candid moment with Babar and Rizwan after their win. The image has won hearts on social media. The Pakistan Cricket Board too shared the image with the caption "Spirit of Cricket".
