42,000 Indians Have Entered The United States Illegally In Last One Year: Report
Alluding to the data gathered by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the report states that approximately 42,000 individuals from India have unlawfully crossed the U.S. southern border during the fiscal year that began in last October and ended in September.
The report highlights that the figures are nearly twice as high as those from the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year.
A significant portion of Indian migrants voluntarily surrender to the Border Patrol upon entering the United States, where they subsequently seek asylum.
This trend, as the WSJ report says, is often influenced by the experiences of other Indians who have entered the US in a similar manner and secured employment.
In general, the United States is experiencing unlawful migration from across the globe. According to the report, around two million people have already been arrested for illegal border crossings by the end of the 2023 fiscal year.
