Preet Kaur Gill, the first female Sikh MP in the UK, is the UK's Shadow Secretary of State for International Development. In a tweet, Gill criticised the Indian government for "harming people’s ability to express political views".
Social media personality and former adult movie performer Mia Khalifa termed the shut down of internet services in the protest sites as human rights violation. In a subsequent tweet, she also derided claims that the protesting farmers were paid actors.
