ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Here's What To Expect

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is set to take place in Australia from Sunday. A total of 16 teams divided into two stages will feature in T20I cricket's apex tournament.
Eight teams were drawn into a preliminary group stage where the top two teams from each group will join the Super 12.
The preliminary Group Stage includes Namibia, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka and the UAE in Pool A. The teams drawn in Pool B are Ireland, Scotland, West Indies and Zimbabwe.
The Super 12 consists of the top-seeded teams in T20I cricket. They are divided into two groups of six teams each with two teams joining from the preliminary group stage.
In the Super 12, hosts Australia, Afghanistan, England and New Zealand have been drawn into group one. The second group consists of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and South Africa. The remaining four slots are reserved for teams from the preliminary group stage.
The top two teams from each group in the Super 12 will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled on November 9 and 10. The Final takes place at the famous MCG Stadium on November 13.
Along with hosting rights, Australia also enter the tournament as the defending champion. The first match of the tournament is between Sri Lanka and Namibia on Sunday.
India start their tournament against Pakistan at the MCG on October 23.
