Argentina Announces 26-Member Squad For FIFA World Cup 2022

Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni announced the 26-member squad that will represent Argentina in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
A total of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders and seven attackers will feature for the Albiceleste at Qatar 2022. Lionel Messi will wear the captain's armband.

Defenders
Nahuel Molina (Atlético Madrid), Gonzalo Montiel, Marcos Acuña (Sevilla), Cristian Romero (Tottenham), Germán Pezzella (Real Betis), Nicolás Otamendi (Benfica), Lisandro Martínez (Manchester United), Nicolás Tagliafico (Lyon) and Juan Foyth (Villareal).
Midfielders
Rodrigo De Paul (Atlético Madrid), Leandro Paredes (PSG), Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton), Guido Rodríguez (Real Betis), Papu Gómez (Sevilla), Enzo Fernández (Benfica) and Exequiel Palacios (Bayer Leverkusen).
Forwards

Lionel Messi joins a special club and will be featuring in his fifth FIFA World Cup for Argentina. The Albiceleste are currently ranked at number three in the FIFA rankings and go to Qatar as one of the favourites to lift the trophy.
