FIFA World Cup 2022: Here Are The Round Of 16 Matches
After 13 days since its beginning on November 20, the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2022 is over. The final 16 teams are now going to commence the knockout rounds on Saturday. Here are the knockout fixtures.
Netherlands vs USA
The Dutch ended their group stage as leaders of Group A and will face the US, who were the runners-up of Group B. They meet on Saturday, December 3 at the Khalifa International Stadium from 8:30 pm IST.
Argentina vs Australia
Despite their shock defeat against Saudi Arabia, Lionel Messi and company made it to the knockouts as Group C leaders. They will be facing the Socceroos, who were runners-up of Group D on December 4 from 12:30 am IST at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.
France vs Poland
The defending champions were leaders of Group D, dodging the Champions Curse to set up their Round of 16 clash against Group C runners-up Poland. They meet at Al Thumama Stadium from 8:30 pm IST on Sunday.
England vs Senegal
The Three Lions wrapped up their group stage as leaders of Group B, thus setting up their knockout match against Senegal, who were runners-up of Group A. They will play at Al Bayt Stadium on Monday at 12:30 am.
Japan vs Croatia
The Blue Samurais defeated Spain and Germany in their group stage to become the Group E leaders and set up their knockout clash against Croatia, who were the runners-up of Group F. They meet at Al Janoub Stadium on Monday from 8:30 pm IST.
Brazil vs South Korea
The record champions were the Group G leaders and they will now face South Korea, who became the Group H runners-up following their 2-1 victory against Portugal. The two teams will clash on Tuesday from 12:30 am IST at Stadium 974.
Morocco vs Spain
The Moroccans defeated second-ranked Belgium and became the Group F leaders, setting up a knockout clash against Group E runners-up Spain. They meet at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday from 8:30 pm IST.
Portugal vs Switzerland
The Swiss defeated Serbia 2-3 in a thrilling last-day contest to cement their spot in the knockout stage as Group G runners-up. They will face Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal on Wednesday at the Lusail Stadium from 12:30 am IST.
