Two Kashmiri Pandits Killed In J&K's Shopian, Group Asks KPs To Leave Valley
Two Kashmiri Pandits were killed in an orchard in Jammu & Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday in a suspected militant attack.
The duo has been identified as Sunil Kumar and his brother Pintu Kumar. Sunil died on spot, while Pintu succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
"Terrorists fired upon civilians in an apple orchard in Chotipora area of Shopian," the J&K Police tweeted saying that the area had been cordoned off.
There has been a spike in targetted killings of Kashmiri Pandits and non-local labourers in the past few months. A migrant worker from Bihar was shot dead in of Bandipora district last week, while another labourer from Bihar was killed and two others injured in a grenade attack in Pulwama on August 4.
