18 Staffers At Mumbai Raj Bhavan Test Positive; Governor In Self Isolation
Eighteen staffers at Mumbai's Raj Bhavan, the residence of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, have tested positive for COVID-19, reports PTI. According to a BMC official, Governor Koshyari has not tested positive but is self isolating as a precaution.
Anupam Kher's Mother, Three Relatives Test Positive For COVID-19
Anupam Kher's mother has tested positive for COVID-19 along with his brother, sister-in-law and niece, the actor announced on Sunday. His mother Dulari has been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital while his brother and his family have quarantined themselves at their home. Anupam Kher said he and his nephew tested negative for COVID-19.

India Records Highest One-day Spike In New COVID-19 Cases
According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 28,637 new COVID-19 cases, the highest one-day rise. The total case count stands at 8,49,553. The death toll rose by 551 deaths to stand at 22,674. The active cases stands at 2,92,258 while 5,34,620 patients have been cured or discharged.
Junior Bachchan Also Tests Positive
After superstar Amitabh Bachchan announced on Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19, son Abhishek also took to Twitter to confirm that he has tested positive.
They got themselves admitted to Nanavati hospital in Mumbai and other family members as well as their staff will get their tests done soon. Both of them are exhibiting mild symptoms.

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan tests positive for COVID 19. The actor has been admitted to Nanavati hospital in Mumbai. Bachchan tweeted informing about the it on Twitter and asked all those who have been in close proximity to him to get tested for Covid-19.

Biocon's drug receives approval for use on coronavirus patients
Biocon's drug Itolizumab has received regulatory approval from the Drug Controller General of India to be used on coronavirus patients suffering from moderate to severe respiratory distress. It's the first novel biological therapy to be approved by the DCGI.
Biocon's chaiperson, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw said that in a randomised control trial, all patients administered with this drug responded positively and recovered, while those who did not unfortunately suffered casualties.
Lockdown Reimposed in Bengaluru
Karnataka's Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced on Saturday that the government has decided to impose a total lockdown in Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural district for the period of 7 days. This would start on Tuesday July 14 8pm onward and would last for a week, citing expert suggestions and the growing number of cases of COVID-19. He reassured that the flow of essentials in the city would continue without inhibition.
All essential services including supply of milk, vegetables, fruits, medicines and groceries will continue uninterrupted. I appeal to people to cooperate with the government, follow all guidelines, take all precautionary steps and help us contain the pandemic. (2/2)

Maharashtra Reports Single Biggest Spike In Cases
Maharashtra's health ministry reported its single largest spike in cases yet, at 8,139. This brings the total tally of the state to 2,46,660. This includes 1,36,985 recovered patients, 10,413 deaths and 99,202 active cases.
Meghalaya Reports Highest Rise In Cases Yet
With 76 new cases, the state of Meghalaya has reported its single largest spike in cases yet, with its case count now at 312. Of these, 132 are personnel of the Border Security Force posted there.
Delhi Cancels University Exams
Delhi has cancelled all exams in the state universities under it, including final exams, according to a tweet put out by Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Delhi's CM Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the Centre to cancel the exams of central universities such as IITs and DU as well.
