Women's Hockey Team Stun Favourites Australia To Reach Semis
The Indian women's hockey team pulled off the shock of the tournament by beating favourites Australia to reach the semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics. Gurjit Kaur gave India the lead in the second quarter through the team's only penalty corner. Goalkeeper Savita Punia and the Indian defence then stood solid against wave after waves of Australian attacks. India will next play Argentina for a place in the final.

After a gruelling match, India's Men's Hockey team defeated Great Britain 3-1 in the quarter-finals, and is now assured a medal.
The team will face the Belgians in the semi-finals on Tuesday, winning which will bring the them to the finals.

PV Sindhu get's her second Olympics medal
Indian Badminton champion PV Sindhu defeated China's He Bing Jiao 21-13 and 21-15, to win a Bronze, her second Olympics medal.
With her victory, Sindhu became the first Indian woman to win two individual Olympic medals.
Satish Kumar Bows Out In QF
Boxer Satish Kumar has exited the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after losing to Uzbekistan's top-seeded Bakhodir Jalolov in the quarter-final. Satish, who had to race against time to be fit for the bout, lost by a unanimous 5-0 decision. No male boxer has won an Olympic medal for India since Vijender Singh won bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
PV Sindhu Loses In Semi Final
Shuttler PV Sindhu has been knocked out of the women's singles event in the semi-finals. Up against Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-Ying, Sindhu played well in the first game but eventually lost it 21-18. Tzu-Ying was much better in the second game and sealed her place in the final to win the match 21-18, 21-12. Sindhu will now play He Bingjao in the bronze medal match while Tai Tzu-Ying will play Chen Yufei in the final.
Boxer Pooja Rani Knocked Out In QF
Pooja Rani has been knocked out in the quarter-finals of the women's middlewight boxing event. Rani was beaten by China's World No 3 Li Qian 5-0.
Anjum Moudgil, Tejaswini Sawant Fail To Make Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions Final
India's dismal shooting campaign continued as Anjum Moudgil and Tejaswini Sawant failed to qualify for the final of the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event. Moudgil finished 15th with a score of 1167-54x while Sawant finished 33rd with a score of 1154-50x.
Atanu Das Bows Out In The Round Of 16
Archer Atanu Das is out of the men's individual event in the round of 16 after losing to Japan's Takaharu Fukurawa. With the scores tied at 4-4 after the fourth set, Das scored 26 from his three shots while Fukurawa scored 27 with his shots. With Das' exit, the Indian archery team's Olympic campaign has come to an end.
Women's Hockey Team Keep QF Hopes Alive
The Indian women's hockey team kept their hopes for a spot in the quarter-finals alive after beating South Africa 4-3. A hat-trick from Vandana Katariya and a goal from Neha Goyal helped India edge South Africa in a thriller. India are currently fourth in Pool A and will hope Great Britain beat Ireland in the final match of Pool A.
