Wuhan Doctor Who Worked With COVID-19 Whistleblower Dies Due To Coronavirus
Hu Weifeng, a urologist at Wuhan Central Hospital who worked with COVID-19 whistleblower Li Wenliang, died on Friday according to an AFP report. Weifeng was being treated for COVID-19 and related issues for the last four month, state broadcaster CCTV said. He is the sixth doctor from Wuhan Central Hospital to have died from the virus
Delhi Govt. Launches 'Delhi Corona' App
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the "Delhi Corona" app on Tuesday to provide information on availability of beds in the state's hospitals. "We are launching an app today which will give everyone the status of hospital beds and ventilator availability in Delhi," Kejriwal said.
Complaint Filed In Goa Over Fake COVID-19 Post
Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Tuesday said that a complaint has been filed for the spread of an alleged fake message being spread about community transmission of COVID-19 in Goa, reports PTI. "The fake message talks about recovery of patients and how community transmission has begun in Goa. A complaint in this regard has been filed with district collector and local police considering the Epidemic Diseases Act," Rane said in a statement.
India's Total Case Count Inches Toward 2 Lakh
India added 8,171 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours to take the total case count to 1,98,706. The death toll rose to 5,598 as 204 patients died due to the disease. 95,526 patients have been discharged so far.
Russia To Roll Out Anti-viral Avifavir As COVID-19 Cure
Russia will start administering the anti-viral Avifavir to treat COVID-19 patients from next week, reports Reuters. Avifavir is also being trialled in Japan where it is called Avigan. According to the report, clinical trials involved 330 people and showed Avifavir successfully treated the virus in most cases within four days.

India Records Highest One-day Spike In Positive Cases
According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 8,392 new cases were reported in India to take the total case count to 1,90,535. 230 patients succumbed to the disease to take the death toll to 5,294. 91,818 patients have been discharged so far.

Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh Extend Lockdown
Tamil Nadu and Punjab have extended the lockdown till 30 June while Madhya Pradesh has extended the lockdown till 15 June even as the central government issued guidelines to reopen the country.
Punjab CM Amrinder Singh said that the state has evidence of community spread of the virus which necessitates the extension. He also said that there will be relaxations in restrictions which will be announced later.
Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswamy also extended the lockdown but with more relaxations. Buses will be allowed to operate everywhere except Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet and Thiruvallur districts.
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that reopening the economy while the virus is still prevalent would be dangerous and also announced that schools could reopen after 13 June.
